The official launch of the project was held on May 17th in the Archaeological Park West with the attendance of the then Director General of the DoA, Dr Monther Jamhawi, the then Italian Ambassador H.E. Giovanni Brauzzi, Dr Elizabeth Feary, Acting Office Director, Economic Development and Energy Office, USAID Jordan, the Governor of Madaba, local DoA and SCHEP staff, colleagues from other archaeological projects in Jordan and local residents.
